The construction of new Building G to house the Research, Development and Training Complex for Advanced Technology on the grounds of the Technical University of Liberec was commenced with the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone at 12:12pm on Wednesday, 12 December 2012.
The construction of Building G is the second largest investment in the history of the Technical University of Liberec. The project will provide the university with a teaching centre and an assembly hall for about 350 people (the university currently does not have an assembly hall).
“The university has been considering the construction of a university building at the site since the founding of the institution. I am delighted that after sixty years the idea is finally coming to fruition. I trust that Building G will become not only a place for work but also a meeting place for our academic community and a place for social and cultural events,” said Professor Kůs in his speech.
