On Thursday, 22 March at 9am, Forum Nová Karolina in Ostrava welcomed its first customers, becoming the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the Czech Republic.
The opening of the shopping and entertainment centre marked the completion of the first stage of construction of one of the largest urban revitalization projects in the Czech Republic. This dominant and architecturally attractive structure replaces the former Karolina coking plant in an area of 58,000 square metres. The centre offers its customers more than 240 brand-name stores, as well as restaurants, cafés, fast food outlets, Cinema City with eight screens, children’s corners for the little ones, and an underground parking lot for 1,500 cars.
The opening of the Forum Nová Karolina shopping and entertainment centre also included the opening of a large pedestrian mall and the main plaza.
