The investment and development company CPI Group has completed the reconstruction of the four-star Clarion Congress Hotel Ostrava. The hotel will open at the end of April with new rooms, a large congress hall, a wellness centre and dining facilities. The contractors of the project valued at CZK 180 million were GEMO Olomouc, spol. s r.o. and Dřevomonta s.r.o.
The CPI Group purchased the hotel in 2009 and incorporated it into the international Clarion chain. Reconstruction, which lasted six months, was completed in February of this year. "We focused not only on design, but also on technology, operations and the overall comfort of rooms, the convention and leisure facilities with a view to the current requirements of business clients, who are the target group of this hotel," said Antonín Spáčil, project manager of the CPI Group.
The hotel now offers a total of 169 double rooms and suites near Ostrava’s ČEZ Arena. The hotel’s dining facilities and individual restaurants also underwent a considerable modernisation. The original wellness centre was completely transformed. "With an area of 850 m2, the centre is truly an outstanding place for the relaxation of hotel guests and the general public," said Spáčil.
The new hotel facilities, including the new congress centre building that holds 1,600 guests, are a great addition to the offer of hotel services. “CPI Hotels, the operator, required maximum flexibility in the individual halls and the space as a whole. We therefore chose a proven model from our hotels and installed sliding walls at the Ostrava Clarion as well. As such, the hotel can organise several larger and smaller events simultaneously, without in any way compromising the comfort of guests and technical support," added Spáčil. The first major test for the hotel will be on 24 April, when it hosts a conference for 700 delegates.
